Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

NI Counselling Treatment to help with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

NI Counselling offers specialised support for individuals coping with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), focusing on helping you manage the complex emotional and psychological aspects of this condition.  Our counsellors provide a compassionate space where you can openly discuss the frustrations and challenges of living with CFS. Through personalised one-on-one sessions, they work to understand the impact of chronic fatigue on your daily life and mental health, helping you develop effective strategies to cope with the symptoms and related stressors. Our counsellors offer guidance in managing the emotional strain and developing a supportive routine that accommodates your needs. By addressing both the psychological impact of CFS and your overall well-being, NI Counselling is committed to helping you find balance and improve your quality of life while navigating the ongoing challenges of chronic fatigue.

What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), is a complex, long-term illness characterized by extreme fatigue that cannot be explained by any underlying medical condition. The fatigue worsens with physical or mental activity but does not improve with rest. The condition affects multiple body systems, including the neurological, immune, and metabolic systems, and can significantly impair a person’s ability to carry out ordinary daily activities. The prognosis for CFS varies widely among individuals. Some people experience significant improvement over time, while others may have persistent symptoms. Early diagnosis and a comprehensive treatment plan can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. However, CFS can be a chronic condition, and ongoing management and support are often necessary.
