Meet the Therapist

Hello, my name is Karen Kearns and I am an Integrative Counsellor working with adults. I am professionally registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

As a believer that the most important part of counselling is the relationship between client and counsellor, I strive to create a trusting, warm, safe, non-judgemental space to listen to you and help you explore your thoughts, feelings and needs.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues in various settings, in private practice, in GP surgeries and in the community. My background includes providing counselling for disabled people, carers and people with long-term health conditions or life-limiting conditions. I offer a blend of counselling that is unique to each person depending on your individual needs.

I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy to help individuals navigate life’s challenges and foster personal growth. My practice offers support for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, life transitions, bereavement, and self-esteem.

We can work together to help you develop healthy boundaries, increase your self-care and self-esteem, learn how to recognise and challenge negative thoughts and adopt a self-compassionate attitude. I firmly believe that having a space to be truly listened to, heard, respected and is essential in facilitating healing and lasting change.

“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.”
